Wife 'proud' of CIA-murdering husband

More than any other recent quote, the statement below shows the irrational mindset of our enemies terrorizing the populations of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, and other nations around the world, including the United States.

"Frankly, I am proud of my husband. I think my husband conducted a very big operation in a kind of war. Hopefully, if he is a martyr, may God accept his being a martyr. I think there is not much to say about the subject."

That quote comes from Defne Bayrak in a video just posted by ABC News. Her husband, Humam al-Balawi, murdered seven CIA agents on December 30 in Afghanistan, after infiltrating a camp near the Pakistani border as a double agent. Al Qaeda's number three terrorist, Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, claimed responsibility for the attack.

The fact that this Turkish widow would be "proud" that her husband, who leaves behind two young children, blew himself up in cowardly fashion to kill seven men who thought he was a confidential informant, is simply appalling. I have no sympathy for this woman, who is under investigation for possibly having advance knowledge of the attack, whatsoever.

I do, however, have sympathy for the couple's young children, who are undoubtedly being corrupted by a despicable ideology that will one day be "confined to the ash heap of history," as President Reagan once predicted of the Soviet Union in a 1982 speech to British Parliament. As Al Qaeda laughably claims this attack on CIA agents was "in response" to predator drone strikes in Afghanistan and Pakistan, I hope President Obama ramps up the operations against these cowards, and there are already signs today that he has done just that. Good job, Mr. President, in making sure that the deaths of seven heroic CIA agents were not in vain.
