Reports: Top terrorist killed in U.S. drone strike

Great job by the U.S. military in reportedly killing a top al Qaeda terrorist last night in northwest Pakistan. Unfortunately, the military said it is not Osama bin Laden or Ayman al-Zawahiri, who have been busy hiding in caves for the past eight years while others fight the war they started. Nevertheless, let's all be happy that the military once again accomplished an important mission.

In isolated cases, the national media does a great job covering the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. This blog will always be objective, and fairly point out when the press does its duty. I was reminded of this story, filed by CBS News' 60 Minutes in May, about the incredibly precise nature of the predator drones now hunting terrorists overseas. It is a must-watch story and Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Lara Logan did a nice job presenting it.
